This edition reprints the text of the first, including Washington's journal (see previous lot), though differs from the established second edition by containing additional material at the end, preceded by a notice. Following p.198 is the notice reading in part: "In order not to leave anything to the curiosity of the Public, we have believed to please it by putting together here all items published by France & England on the occasion of the differences which have arisen between both nations. By adding these Pieces to the Memoire contenant le précis des faits &c which we have just published; in the same format, one will have a complete collection on this important matter, & one will even better judge the weakness of the means of the court of London..." The additional material is: Mémoire envoyée par Sa Majesté Trés-Chrétienne à la Cour de Londres. 18 pages. -- Réponse de Monsieur ***, Datée de la Haye du 5 Janvier 1756.
