A 19th-Century brass and steel model of a single cylinder mill engine,
with mahogany lagged cylinder 1in. bore x 1¾in. stroke, cylinder drains and pipes, drip fed displacement lubricator, trunk type crosshead guide, barrelled connecting rod, centrally mounted valve chest with inlet pipe and main stop valve, oil pressure pump driven from the eccentric rod, eccentric driven feed pump, pipework and valve, wire rope driven Watt-type governor, linkage and valve, the crankshaft main bearings mounted in trunnions, curved spoken flywheel and twin belt pullies. Further details include metal floor with handrails, steps and simulated grey brick plinth, the engine finished in red and polished brightwork - 22.8 x 36.8cm. (9 x 14½in.). Glazed case (one pane of glass cracked)
