A William IV mahogany longcase clock, circa 1830
The hood with verre eglomisé panels, reeded outset columns and conforming inset pilasters, the plinth with quoined angles, the 14 in. wide painted dial with yacht scene to the arch, Continent spandrels, with dot minute track, subsidiary seconds and date rings, signed R. SOMERVELL/GLASGOW, pinned directly to the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and now with rack strike on gong -- 93½ in. (238 cm.) high
