Gouache heightened with gold on paper, painted in a charming and idiosyncratic style, Farhad carries Shirin mounted atop a horse through a rocky landscape with various figures looking on, with two lines of nasta'liq in four columns above and below, reserved in clouds over a gold ground with polychrome foliage within blue, gold, green, orange and turquoise margins, the reverse with illuminated headings and 20ll. of nasta'liq in four columns, generally in good condition
