Late 19th century, blue crossed swords marks, both vases incised 2745., one stand incised 605., impressed 64 and painted 28.
Each pierced rocaille-moulded cover surmounted by a large bouquet, above an inverted pear-shaped vase, finely painted after Watteau with vignettes of 18th century couples in garden landscapes, the reverse with bouquets of deutsche Blumen within an applied flower and fruit surround scrolling to form the vine handles, the lower socles similarly moulded, and applied with either a nymph or a putto holding a basket of flowers, a companion putto above, the rims richly gilt, raised on Meissen flower-encrusted stands
