Seventh to twenty-second and last edition. The 15th edition was not published as such. There were two issues of the 14th edition of 1861, described on the cover as "autumn edition" and "spring edition"; two issues of the 16th edition of 1862, the earlier one [the true 15th edition] being "winter" and the later "spring"; and two issues of the 22nd edition of 1866 [the earlier "autumn" issue being morer accurately the 2nd issue of the 21st edition, and described as such on the cover]. All these issues are included in the present run. Although no 15th edition was published, Eagar has described the first issue of the 14th edition, the "Autumn edition, 1861", as "15TH EDN." on the spine of this set. The "Spring edition 1862" [second issue of the 16th edition] is described as "17TH EDN." on the spine, with a resulting alteration in sequence which means that the final issue becomes "23RD EDN." Padwick 1086. (18)
