EQUESTRIAN PORTRAIT OF EMPEROR AURANGZEB, DELHI SCHOOL, EARLY 19TH CENTURY
Finely painted in gouache heightened with gold on paper, inscribed above in gold nasta'liq, meandering gold flowers and foliage on a buff coloured border, the reverse with three lines of bold nasta'liq, dated AH 1129/1716 AD, on a floral ground within gold floral margins on a blue ground -- miniature 13¼ x 9 7/8in. (33.6 x 25cm.)
