Document, a court summons to William Fenwick, signed by Sir Dudley Ryder, Knight Attorney General, [Exeter, 1752], written in brown ink on vellum, 555 x 650mm. Action brought against William Fenwick, also Phoenix, for drinking the health of the James Stuart, the Old Pretender; and 20 manuscripts comprising contemporary transcripts of documents and letters relating to the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745, including reports of the movements of rebels, an account of the defeat of Sir John Cope at Prestonpans and the surrender of Carlisle.
