royal documents with secretarial signatures, LOUIS XIII, manuscript on vellum (1618), LOUIS XVI, manuscript on paper (Versailles, 23 April 1780), countersigned by de Montbarey, letters signed, Duc d'AIGUILLON (Nantes, 1786), Etienne-Jacques MACDONALD, duc de Tarente, Maréchal de France (Bourges, 15 January 1816, with seal), autograph letter signed by Lucien BONAPARTE, Prince of Canino, nephew of Napoleon I (Paris, February 17 1857, laid down on card with ALS by Thomas Hood on verso), and 10 further autograph letters by statesmen and authors, including François GUIZOT, de JOUY, Ernest RENAN and Pierre LOUYS; manuscript on paper, 18 pages, 2°, 22 September 1565, the establishment by CHARLES IX of a new tax on wine, and printed material including a French Republic decree relating to wine.
