The shield-shaped vase with parcel gilt biscuit lion-mask handles, the waisted neck painted with pink roses within a gilt dentil band, one side with birds in branches, the other densely painted with peonies, irises, daffodils and other flowers, insects scattered throughout, the socle foot with a gilt seeded band edged in foliate striated and diaper-pattern scrolls
