EACH STAMPED 'C.MOULINS' AND 'ECHALLE', MID-19TH CENTURY
Each with molded and rounded breakfront rectangular grey-veined white marble top above a Vitruvian scroll frieze centered by a husk-trail hung lion's mask, flanked to the angles with patera-filled scroll panels and on fluted turned tapering legs headed by foliate caps and joined by shaped guilloche-panelled stretchers centered by a husk-trail hung pierced vase, and on paw feet, one stamped three times 'ECHALLE' the other twice, both stamped twice 'C.MOULINS' to the top of the back-rail, slight variations in width, with gilt under-layer

Lot Essay

The stamp 'C.MOULINS' is probably that of a C. Moulin, recorded at 12, rue de Charenton in 1853. The stamp 'ECHALLE' appears to be that of an unrecorded retailer or restorer.
