Lot Essay

The celebrated Bond Street firm of Messrs Johnstone and Jeanes were noted in the Art Journals illustrated Catalogue of the London 1862 Exhibition as having been established for upwards of a century, 'it's renown has been obtained not only by a good and substantial manufacture, but by continual study to introduce Art into all their works'.
