An English mahogany and satinwood inlaid quarter-chiming longcase clock
Dial signed William Berry, Canongate
The hood with later panel inlaid with Prince of Wales feathers, columns with brass stop-fluting to front, glazed side panels, the trunk and plinth with fan inlays, later trunk door with presentation plaque to inside, raised on later double foot, 12 in. wide cut-away brass dial with female mask and foliate spandrels to silvered replaced chapter ring with half hour and half quarter hour divisions, signed Will.m Berry Canongate, matted centre with subsidiary seconds, the arch with silvered later disc engraved with Prince of Wales feathers, chime/silent lever by 15, the three train movement with anchor escapement, quarter chimes on eight bells and hour strike on further bell; composite, case last quarter 18th century, dial possibly 18th century and adapted, movement late 19th century
