The badge shaped circular with a central sun motif within a leaf border, below cresting with the legend 'SUN FIRE OFFICE' and above the applied number 18, with a later applied thumbpiece, mounted as the hinged cover of a Doulton stoneware jug, incised with horses and with a scroll handle, the badge marked on the front, the rim marked near handle
