A collection of documents, including documents signed by Robert CECIL, 1st Earl of Salisbury (a receipt, also signed by Sir William Waad), Sir John Savile (1602), Robert Beale (autograph copy of a document), William Cecil, 2nd Earl of Salisbury (autograph letter signed, 1647/8), and Heneage Finch, 1st Earl of Nottingham (2), with other miscellaneous documents including a receipt signed by the Treasurer of Berwick (for £9,000 'for the defrayinge of the King and Quenes Ma[jes]ties [i.e. Philip and Mary] Charges in expence norward', 1557), a document issued in the name of Elizabeth I (a demand for a loan of £20, 1592), a letter to the Duc de Bouillon (from a correspondent at Whitehall, 1626, giving political news), a letter to Ferdinando FAIRFAX, 2nd Baron (from a relative, Alethia Fairfax, 1645), and approximately 8 others
