Autograph telegram signed ('Guglielmo', and with initials, 'G.M.'), to the Marchesa Marconi (his wife), Elettra, 13 October 1934, 4 lines written on a printed form of the Societa Italiana Radio Marittima, one page, oblong 4to (slightly browned, fragment torn from upper left corner, tear from upper edge, not touching writing, traces of mounting at lower edge), and 2 other telegraphic items.
A message from the inventor of wireless telegraphy, written on board his yacht when leaving Messina for Genoa ('Benissimo mare calmo'), announcing his itinerary and ending affectionately, 'abracci tenerissimi and thousand kisses'.
Marconi, of Italian and Irish parentage, carried out his first successful experiments with wireless telegraphy at Bologna in 1895. The Marconi Wireless Telegraphy Company was established in London two years later.
