A COCKPIT MAP USED ON THE NORTH TO THE ORIENT FLIGHT. A portion of a map of Quebec used during the North to the Orient flight, showing Montreal and Lake St. Louis along the western edge of the map, and Stukely along the east, with the Richelieu River running along the center of the map from St. Denis to Rouse Point. Lindbergh plotted a straight flight path, in the lower left quadrant of the map, from Foucault to Brysonville, with the mileage marked and measured in pencil. He wanted this fragment handy in the cockpit in order to spot the major rivers and rail lines depicted on it. A number of lines converge on Montreal: the New York Central, the Canadian National and the Canadian Pacific among others.
