Navette-shaped and on oval foot pierced with vertical slats, with reeded borders, pierced below the rim with a band of scrolling foliage and flowers, highlighted with bright-cut engraving, with reeded swing handle, the centre engraved with a crest, marked on side and handle

The crest is that of Milligan for David Milligan, merchant of the City of London, granted on 20 December 1774. He married on 10 September 1759, at Kirkcudbright, Marian Clarke.
