LATE 17TH CENTURY, THE FIRST POSSIBLY HAARLEM, POSSIBLY WILLEM JANZ VERSTRAETEN, THE SECOND PROBABLY HANAU
The first painted in colours in the manner of the Urbino Patanazzi workshop, the centre with a naked reclining putto within a multiple concentric circle cartouche, the border with grotteschi within a lobed ochre and brown simulated rope-twist border, the underside moulded with lattice work above a band of gadroons around the foot; the second painted in blue and ochre, the centre with fruit and foliage within a blue double concentric circle cartouche, the gadrooned border with a band of ochre and blue foliage with blue foliate scrolls, the underside with a short circular foot (chipping and flaking to rims of both, the second with section broken from rim and restored)
