Details
c.1924 FORD MODEL T TOURER

Registration No. BL 3883 (New Zealand)
Engine No. Tba
Black with cloth interior trim.

Engine: four cylinder, side valve, 176.7 cubic inch, 2,890cc, 22bhp at 1,800 rpm; Gearbox: two speed and reverse epicyclic transmission; Suspension: beam front, live rear axle, transverse half-elliptic leaf springs front and rear; Brakes: contracting band on transmission. Right hand drive

This is a benchmark example of the mid-1920s 'Tin Lizzie' heralding from the days when Henry Ford was quoted as saying you could have any colour you liked 'as long as it was black'. The car wears an old New Zealand style numberplate which presumably confirms its right hand drive configuration.

The car is one of the better presented T's in the sale and may well have been restored at some stage during its life. It has benefited from sympathetic storage for many years at the Gables Service Station, such that its condition has remained fair.

On the basis of its visual condition, we would anticipate that re-commissioning of this particular example would be relatively straightforward.

Special notice
No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium, which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
