An important carved marmo giallo antico oil lamp
in the manner of Boschetti, the reservoir with ram's head mask and winged dragon handle, the sides of the body with panels of tritons, the base with acanthus leaves, the cover with the heads of tritons, nereids and a ram's mask with spiralling horn above bands of berried ivy, supported by an acanthus wrapped socle with beaded and egg and dart borders, the rectangular stepped pedestal with inset bronze plaques depicting amorini, on a rectangular black slate plinth -- 24¼in. (61.5cm) high
