The blade inlaid with the coat-of-arms of Mecklenburg Schwerin, and with monogram FF above Roman numeral IV and inscriptions to either side Weidmännisch jagt, wie sich's gehört,/den Schöpfer im Geschöpfte ehrt and Der treu beschützt hegt sein Wild the broad side of the blade signed D.GIEBEL, HOFMESSERSCHMIED SCHWERIN I/M., with brass and ivory handle, the leather scabbard with seperate small knife with damascened blade with gold-inlaid monogram FFA, and date to the reverse 1901, the broad side of the blade inlaid with inscription ECHT DAMAST
