N.o11 MATERIAL, = Aluminium-bronze composed of Copper 90, Aluminium 10, cast in block and planed down to this size , with a 6-inch scale subdivided to 0.05in., with a boxwood-mounted thermometer by J.M. BRYSON OPTICIAN EDINBURGH, kept in place by removable pine blocks, in a mahogany carrying case with two brass catches and handles -- 39.3cm. (15½in.) wide
