stamped TROUGHTON & SIMMS, LONDON, the 10in. long telescope with ray-shade and dust-cover, overmounted bubble level and rack and pinion focusing, held on two A-frame supports with finescrew adjustment and clamp, one support stamped L.C.C. ENGINEERS DEPARTMENT NO. 6, over the 5½in. diameter horizontal circle with twin bubble levels, finescrew adjustment and clamp, enclosed scale with twin viewing scopes with micrometer adjustment and a trough compass mounted beneath, raised on a three-screw foot with finescrew adjustment, in a mahogany box with adjustment labels for E.R. Watts & Son (1937) and Hilger and Watts Ltd (1949) -- 38.3cm. (15 1/8in.) wide
