An unusual early 20th-Century lacquered-brass universal sundial,
stamped on the stand MEAN TIME SUNDIAL INVENTED BY MAJOR GENERAL OLIVER C.M.G.R.A. NEGRETTI & ZAMBRA LONDON, comprising a wire gnomon with skittle-shaped central section held in a semi-circular altitude scale graduated 60°-0-60° with a semi-circular hour band sliding at right angles in a groove with index and graduated V-XII-VII, the latitude scale sliding in the brass support with screw clamps, on a marble base -- 26.6cm. (10½in.) high
