A late 19th-Century European 12-inch diameter terrestrial table globe,
unsigned, with text in English, made up of twelve chromolithographed gores and two polar calottes, with graduated equatorial, ecliptic and equinoctial colure, the oceans well-detailed with ocean curents, trade winds, marine flora, submarine telegraph lines and steamship routes, Antarctica with stretches of coastline and the rest projected, with some notes, the continents with nation states variously coloured in outline, showing towns, cities, rivers, mountains and lakes, China with the Great Wall, America with divided Dakotas, Panama shown as part of Venezuela, with a stamped brass meridian half-circle, raised on a baluster-turned pale wooden column and circular base -- 58cm. (22 7/8in.) high
