8o. Original black cloth (some minor blistering to cloth, edges bumped, some light rubbing along spine); dust jacket (chipping at spine ends and corners, two tape repairs on verso, small hole along front flap fold); quarter morocco folding case. Provenance: Edith Bakrow (presentation inscription).

FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY TO HIS SISTER, inscribed by Kaufman on the front endpaper: "For Edith, if she can get it on the shelf George January '37." The film adaptation was released in 1937 and starred Katherine Hepburn, Ginger Rodgers, and Lucille Ball and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.
