The case with foliate cast handle to the arched top on brass lined raised pad, recessed panel to the front with cut brass foliate inlay, glazed sides and on brass bun feet, the circular white enamel dial signed Vulliamy London with Roman chapters, blued steel hour and minute hands and brass alarm hands, the movement with arched brass plates, five pillars, single chain fusee, half deadbeat escapement, the manually wound alarm spring mounted on the backplate with large clapper sounding on a bell, the backplate with pendulum holdfast and further signed Vulliamy London 649
