The case with fish-scale sound frets to the sides and trefoil pierced panel to rear door, the dial with foliate spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre with plaque signed THOS. KIRK/7.WHITE FRIAR GATE/HULL., the arch with subsidiary rings for chime/silent and Cambridge chimes/chimes on eight bells, the eight day triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, quarter chimes on nine bells and hour strike on gong, with foliate engraving and holdfast to the back plate -- 24½ in. (62 cm.) high
