A STAFFORDSHIRE SPILL VASE

representing Fuller Pilch holding his bat and wearing a beaver hat, a wicket and tree trunk (spill-holder) behind him, his jacket spread over a branch, 7½in. (18.5cm.) high, c. 1843.

Pugh F454-455 (plate 1, fig. 2) illustates the present vase "in the collection of Mr. I.N.R. Shield", categorising it as "very rare" and "desirable".
