A small famille rose vase, first half of the 20th century
delicately enamelled with two birds perched among peony and flowering branches, the reverse with a calligraphic inscription and seals, all between key fret and suspended tassle borders, Qianlong four-character mark to base -- 3¾in. (9.6cm.) high.
Provenance
Letter of provenance stating that the vase was acquired in China by Lady Gowan, Provincial Commissioner for the Central Provinces, India in the 1930's.
By descent to the present owner.
