The rectangular shaped container with rounded corners divided into two compartments, each alternately with the inscriptions kata-miso-ire [hard miso container] and shi-ho-ire [salt container], decorated in nashiji and gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with aoi mon, the handle in nashiji, red lacquer interior and sparse nashiji base, some old wear
