Lot Essay

Much has been written about the history of the Beatles' follow up album to Sgt. Pepper - The Beatles "White Album". Record Collector magazine list it as No.3 in their top 100 Most Valuable Records Of All Time poll, and it is certainly true to say that low-numbered copies rarely surface. It is the vendor's recollection that the first four numbers were given to the Beatles themselves in order of their age. Ringo, being the eldest received No.1, John No.2, Paul No.3 and George No.4.
