Levels: two top, four upper top and six upper shoulder; lightly bin soiled labels, two sunken corks, one torn capsule
In an unassuming moment I had the great pleasure to share a bottle with a dear and knowledgeable friend, Jim Knight of The Wine House in Los Angeles . The volume of aroma filled the glass and even the room! We were both in awe of its greatness. Today, this stands tall among my all time favorites from the 1961 vintage (the others being Latour, Pétrus, La Mission and surprisingly La Gaffelière-Naudes. And while it had more finesse, on that day it stood tall against the likes of Latour & Petrus and above Lafite. A classic wine of immense proportions with no major signs of decay. ST
