the silvered dial signed and numbered Thomas Mercer 23332, Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and up-and-down dials, blued steel hands, Earnshaw escapement, Mercer flat strip-steel detent with jewelled locking pallet, cut bi-metallic balance, cylindrical heat compensation weights, palladium helical balance, brass bowl and gimbal (all brass fittings with applied matt-gold finish), 2-tier plain pale mahogany box with glazed top, brass trade plate to front of top section inscribed Supplied by Kelvin & Hughes, London & Glasgow No. 23332, with outer guard box -- 7¼in. (18.5cm.) square

This chronometer was made by Mercer's in 1960.
