An early 19th Century French prisoner-of-war bone and horn model of a 102-gun First Rate
With bound masts, spars with stun's 'l booms, standing and running rigging, carved warrior figurehead, hair rails, anchors, deck rails, companionways, capstan, gratings, bell canopy, deck houses, upper deck guns in slides, stern davits and other details, the pinned hull, with bone strakes, has carved decorated stern and quarter galleries and open gun ports (some loose pieces and old damages). Mounted on three bone supports on parquetry base with wood railing surround, mounted on carved bone staunchions --8¼ x 11in (21 x 28cm)
