A mid 19th Century rigged boxwood model of a 74-gun Second Rate
with bound masts, yards with stun's'l booms, standing and running rigging and deck details including carved male figurehead, hair rails, anchors, catheads, belaying rails, capstan, water barrels, bell canopy, gratings, deck house, built up and painted stern and quarter gallery detailing, upper deck guns and two ship's boats with thwarts. The solid hull, with scored deck is finished in copper to the waterline with lacquered strakes and mainly yellow and green decoration. Mahogany case with mirror back and base for wall hanging (some old damage) -- 14¾ x 17¾in. (35.7 x 45.4cm.)
