HORATIO, VISCOUNT NELSON (1758-1805)
Autograph address leaf signed ('Nelson & Bronte') to 'Jon[atha]n Airey Esq., Newcastle upon Tyne', London, 10 May 1803 (postmarked with the same date), flattened impression of Nelson's armorial seal in red wax, endorsement in a contemporary hand in right hand margin (seal tears, remains of guard).
The endorsement (in an unidentified hand and initialled 'JD') records that the leaf was given to the writer by Mr Airey. No letter to the latter is recorded by Nicolas in the Despatches and Letters (1846).
