The center with a loose bouquet, the blue border edged with a gilt band and further gilt with entwined myrtle, the sides reticulated as Vitruvian scroll and harebells

Lot Essay

Pierre-Théodore Buteux (aka Théodore) is recorded at Sèvres as a flower painter and gilder 1765-1784. His colleague Etienne-Henry Le Guay l'aîné is recorded at Vincennes and Sèvres initially as a painter and then as a gilder 1748-1749 and 1751-1796.
