The jug of helmet shape with upright loop handle, painted with three gilt-edged blue feuille-de-choux panels enclosing loose bouquets, similar flower sprays below, the rim feathered with gilt feuille-de-choux between the three panels, the gilt line rim extending to edge the handle; the attenuated stand with similar bouquets within a blue-line and gilt dash band and further gilt dentil rim

Lot Essay

Madeleine Philippine Bouvet is recorded at Sèvres as a flower painter 1786-1790. Her mark is similar to that of Etienne-Jean Chabry fils recorded 1764-1787.

Henri-Martin Prévost is recorded as a gilder 1757-1797.
