A vase with identical decoration in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs is likely the pair to the present vase. From the Grandjean Collection, it is illustrated by Marcelle Brunet and Tamara Préaud, Sèvres, des origines à nos jours, Paris, 1978, p. 151, no. 82, where the entry notes that the original drawing in the Sèvres manufactory bears the inscription Demande par Mons. Marmé 1717 2 piesse a anssé première et seconde grandeur.
