AN UNUSUAL FRENCH CHISELLED AND SILVER-DAMASCENED SMALL-SWORD
circa 1785
With slender tapering hollow-triangular blade, steel hilt chiselled with bands of laurel changing to both diagonal and spiral patterns and all in low relief on a damascened ground, including small ring-guard linked by a loop to the knuckle-guard, and original grip of patterned silver wire with silver collars (scabbard missing)
