A .650 CALIBRE FLINTLOCK PATTERN 1805 ORDNANCE BAKER INFANTRY RIFLE
Early 19th Century
With rebrowned twist barrel rifled with seven grooves, block back-sight with single hinged leaf, iron blade fore-sight, bayonet bar, flat bevelled lock of bright steel with engraved linear borders, stamped 'GR' crowned, struck with crowned broad arrow mark beneath the pan and stamped 'Tower' at the rear, walnut stock with crowned broad arrow stamp dated '1805' (the fore-end with several neat repairs), regulation brass mounts, the escutcheon inscribed 'R' over 'I' and the butt-plate inscribed 'R' on the tang, fitted with iron sling swivels, retaining its iron ramrod of the correct pattern, Ordnance proof marks, and complete with second pattern sword bayonet by Osborn & Gunby
