A JADEITE 'PHOENIX' VASE GROUP
19TH CENTURY
Carved in open work and high relief with a composite bamboo-and-pine trunk supporting a central baluster vase and cover, the ends of the trunk forming two further vases, and flanked by two phoenixes perched on its leafy branches, the cover with a chilong finial, the stone of semi-translucent dark green tone with darker speckles, the stained bone stand pierced and carved as a pine branch
8¼ in. (20.7 cm.) wide;
together with a Chinese Spinach Jade Rhyton, 19th Century, the flattened conical-shaped vessel supported on the back of a winged mythical beast, and with a chilong clambering up the rim, the highly polished stone of mottled moss-green tone, 4¾ in. (12.2 cm.) high, on a pierced wood stand (2)
