TWO CARVED CINNABAR LACQUER CIRCULAR BOXES AND COVERS
18TH AND 19TH CENTURY
The first on a metal body, well carved on the top and base with a circular panel depicting the Eight Daoist Immortals gathering to offer Birthday wishes to Shoulao, 18th 19th century, 5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) diam.; the second Japanese, finely carved with two scholars playing weiqi under a pine tree in a landscape, Edo period, minor rim chip, 2 7/8 in. (7.2 cm.) diam.;
together with a group of Japanese objects: a red lacquer scent bottle; a red stone frog and a blue stone dog on stand (5)
