A COLLECTION OF TEN PAPIER MACHE AND POLYCHROME-DECORATED WOODEN BOXES

Comprising: six japanned papier mache boxes and four Russian boxes, the circular one inscribed 'Ruslan' and 'Tsopa', the shaped rectangular box depicting a lady before a green curtain inscribed 'S.Fedoskino '95' and 'Vadin', the oval box inscribed 'S.Fedoskino '94' and 'Tomoninyu', and a square box with a pipe playing figure and a woman before a castle and a ship
9 in. (23 cm.) long and smaller;
together with a black and gilt-japanned box, first half 19th century, of canted rectangular form, enclosing a scarlet, paper-lined interior, 10¾ in. (27.5 cm.) wide, losses and refreshment to decoration; and a Chinese black and gilt-lacquer blotter, 12 x 9 in. (30.5 x 23 cm.) (12)
