Lot Essay

The chiffonier commode is boulle-inlaid with filigreed and palm-flowered brass tablets in the early 19th century Louis Quatorze fashion. Similar foliage-wrapped truss pilasters featured on a chiffonier illustrated in G. Beard and J. Goodison, English Furniture, 1500-1840, 1987 (p. 266).
