A Japanese Bronze three-piece clock Garniture
Meiji period, Late 19th Century
Comprising a mantel clock and a pair of twin-light candelabra: The clock modelled as a large jewel supported by a dragon rising out of the sea, the removable cover surmounted by the diver girl holding a sword above her head and the jewel she had taken from the Dragon King of the Sea, the globe-form clockcase centred by a circular clockface applied with Japanese chapters, on a naturalistic base cast with crashing waves and shells; the candelabra modelled as a dragons each holding aloft two nozzles
