KANGXI (1662-1722)
Each applied with two green-glazed dragon-headed serpentine loop handles, the sides enamelled and gilt with four panels traced in fine black double lines and enclosing two mandarin ducks swimming in a lotus pond, a swallow above tree peony blooms, a long-tailed bird flying amongst branches of prunus and bamboo, and a shorter-tailed bird amongst chrysanthemum sprays, the shallow domed cover with similarly decorated panels radiating from a quatrefoil panel on top with scrolling lotus, surmounted by a blue-glazed seated Buddhist lion with head raised and mouth open forming the finial, one cover rim with two chips restored
