Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the movement of the present watch in 1913, the casing in 1935 and its subsequent sale on 9 December 1935.

The present watch is a particularly fine example of a reference 96 as it combines several highly desirable features such as the stainless steel case, the two-tone silvered dial with the superb sector scheme (also called aviator dial) and the rare movement with gold wheels.

Another particularity are the fixed stainless steel bars between the lugs, more commonly found on watches for either military or scientific use.
